Mama of the Month: Julie Levy

Our January Mama of the Month, Julie Levy, is one tough mother! She makes Body Well and Strides 360 workouts look easy, and believe us - they aren't. We've been lucky to have her in our Village since 2018.

Get to know Julie and her fam below :)

Tell us about your family: My husband Michael and I met at the end of 2014 through a friend, with a little help from Facebook. He looked through her FB friends, saw my picture, and asked her to set us up! We got married in 2016. Our daughter Sophie was born a little over a year later, on December 25th! She just turned 6 and is in kindergarten.

Hometown: Charlotte, NC

Currently live in: Sandy Springs

Preferred Class Location: The river!

Current/Previous Career: I'm a nurse practitioner at Emory University Hospital. I work part-time, 2 shifts a week. I’m with the hospitalist group, which is basically internal medicine for inpatients. We see a little bit of everything, so it keeps me on my toes. Part-time is the perfect balance between work and mom life.

Introvert or Extrovert? A little bit of both. When I first meet people I can be a little shy. Once I get to know people, I think I’m more outgoing.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us: I love chocolate and I love ice cream, but I actually hate chocolate ice cream.

Favorite exercise: I love Lindsey's Body Well classes. When I'm on my own I like the elliptical.

Must-have baby product: Costco baby wipes. We’re long past our diaper days, but I still have wipes in the car, the kitchen, all over. (although now I keep smaller packages)

Favorite Food: Ice cream. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite flavor.

How did you find FIT4MOM? My neighbor happens to be Kate, a F4M member and (former) instructor. She convinced me to try a class and I’m so glad she did! I joined when Sophie was 3 months old.

What do you love about FIT4MOM? I love getting my exercise in, but even more I love the community. When I was a new mom, I really loved being part of a group of moms who understood what it was like at that stage. As my daughter grew, I enjoyed the village events after class for the kiddos. Now I’m at the stage where I’m really loving Body Well and being able to focus on my health, but I'm still doing it with moms just like me.

What does motherhood mean to you? Motherhood is the most wonderful gift. Before I had my daughter, I didn’t know it was possible to love someone so much. I cherish every moment of it.

Julie according to her daughter, Sophie:

How old is mommy? She knows the truth, so I'm going to leave this one blank!

What's something mommy always says to you? “That I’m your cutie pie.”

What is mommy really good at doing? “Making good foods for dinner.” (This made me laugh---lately she hasn’t wanted to eat anything I cook!)

What makes you proud of your mom? That I get done with my work so quickly. (I’m not really sure what she means by this...)

Thanks, Julie!! We are so lucky to have you in our Village!
