Holiday Happenings

The Holidays are quickly approaching and we have SO many fun events going on around our community to celebrate. We have compiled a list of some of our favorite Holiday events!

The Macy’s Pink Pig has been a beloved Atlanta tradition for more than 50 years. From its debut in the ‘50s as a children’s ride at the downtown Rich’s store, to its brief stint at the Egleston Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees, five generations of Atlantans have ridden the Macy’s Pink Pig into the holiday season. You'll get your chance this season, with run dates from November to January.

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights- Atlanta Botanical Gardens- nightly (5-11pm) Nov. 16 – Jan. 11

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights presented by Invesco QQQ returns in 2019 with new features and crowd favorites – including all-new music and motion for Atlanta’s favorite holiday spectacle, Nature’s Wonders, the largest curtain of synchronized light and sound in the world. The exhibition runs nightly Nov. 16 – Jan. 11, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s. Experience the Skylights Lounge in the Skyline Garden and several larger-than-life plant giants from Imaginary Worlds: Alice’s Wonderland awash in holiday glow. Roast a s’more and sip warm beverages while touring favorites like the Ice Goddess, Tunnel of Light, Orchestral Orbs and so much more.

Sandy Spring’s favorite indoor wonderland is back for a second year. Santa’s Fantastical is coming to town with festive, exciting new updates, including new installations, live performances by The Fantasticals and more. Some of last year’s favorites will return as well, but in a completely reimagined way. The Unicorn Dreams and Candy Cane Vortex photo spots, as well as Santa’s Meet–and-Greet in his Chateau, will all make reappearances this holiday season.

Celebrate the holidays when Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™ returns to the stage for its tenth consecutive year. The beloved tale is a faithful adaptation of the classic 1964 stop-motion animated television special. Family Series all-inclusive ticket prices—as well as showtimes—vary by date, but start at $12.50 (Members) and $25 (nonmembers) and include the performance, entrance to the Create-A Puppet Workshop™, where guests can make, decorate and perform with their own Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™ Shadow Puppet, and admission to the Worlds of Puppetry Museum, featuring a global gallery and the largest collection of Jim Henson puppets in the world.

The Toys“R”Us Adventure is a vast indoor playland that celebrates all the whimsy, silly and FUN of toys. Lights of Life Life University (all ages) Saturday https://www.life.edu/lights-of-life/ LIFE introduced the Lights of LIFE in 1989 as a gift to the local community, and it has now grown to be one of the most popular light shows in the Southeast, attracting nearly half a million spectators from the surrounding region. Costs are $5 - $10 per car depending on the day (check website for details). Families are encouraged to come during the week to take advantage of the lower price, as well as to avoid the busier weekend traffic. The display opens at dark every night and runs until 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Christmas at the Farm Light Show Warbington Farms ( all ages) Saturday http://www.warbingtonfarms.com/ Take a hayride to a walk-through field of lights, enjoy a synchronized light show at the pavilion, and marvel at a barn bedazzled by light. Be sure to check the farm's website for dates and times, as they vary and may experience weather-related closures.
