Fit4Mom Atlanta Weekend Roundup October 5-6, 2019

It’s been dreadfully hot this week here in Atlanta, but it looks like cooler temperatures are in our future for the weekend. Enjoy the sunshine and fall weather outside with the fam! Grab those kiddos and let’s find something fun to do!

Piedmont Park Green Market – Atlanta (all ages) FREE Saturday www.piedmontpark.org/green-market Enjoy local farmers and artisan goods. While you shop you can enjoy some prepared foods and drinks and local live music.

Fall Fest- Candler Park (all ages) Saturday and Sunday https://fallfest.candlerpark.org/ Two days of music, local food, a special Kidlandia section with entertainment for the littles, and (hopefully) the first coolish temperatures of the year make this one of Atlanta's favorite fall festivals. And it's free!

Storytelling Saturdays @ The Wrens Nest – Atlanta (all ages) Saturday FREE with Admission www.wrensnest.org The Wrens Nest is an historical site dedicated to preserving Joel Chandler Harris’ stories and the heritage of African American folklore. Storytelling begins at 1pm. Stories and storytellers vary.

Freedom Farmers Market @ The Carter Center – Atlanta (all ages) Saturday www.freedomfarmersmkt.org Open year round and offers a wide range of organic, local products along with live music, a kids tent, and prepared foods.

Atlanta Parent's Family Festival– Mercer University Atlanta Campus (all ages) $10; children 1 and under, free. Online tickets $5. Saturday

https://www.atlantaparent.com/familyfestival/ Atlanta’s premier family festival will be held on October 5 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The festival features more than 50 exciting family-friendly activities, live entertainment including performers, storytelling, local groups, food, interactive exhibits and more. Craft booths, huge toddler play area, mobile petting farm, interactive sports games, inflatable playground, pony rides, live music and continuous storytelling are just some fun activities at the Festival.

14th Annual Scarecrow Harvest– Brooke Street Park (all ages) Saturday 10am-2pm , Free Admission & Activities; Food & Beverage available for purchasefees. https://www.alpharetta.ga.us/government/departments/recreation-parks/special-events/scarecrow-harvest Stroll through the scarecrow village, dance on the great lawn to the sounds of a live DJ or sit back and relax as you listen to the storyteller at the 14th Annual Scarecrow Harvest Festival then enjoy a day full of family friendly, interactive activities, including a bubble artist, mini pumpkin decorating, and other fall crafts.

Alpharetta Farmers Market – Alpharetta (all ages) FREE Saturday www.awesomealpharetta.com/events/alpharetta-farmers-market At the Downtown Alpharetta Farmers Market you will find farmers with fruits, veggies, natural meats, gardeners with fresh flowers and herbs, and makers of all sorts of good from yummy desserts and breads to local raw honey and homemade soaps.

Touch-a-Truck– Warbington Farms (all ages) FREE with admission to Warbington Farms. Sunday https://www.facebook.com/events/720432505083185/ Touch a truck is a free, family friendly event that will allow children a hands-on opportunity to see, touch, and explore the vehicles that protect, build, and serve our community. Touch-a-truck event is free but doesn't include the farm activities. Admission to the farm is $13 per person and includes the hayride, corn maze, barnyard and all the fun park activities. The farm is open 10am-6pm on October 6th. The touch a truck event will be 1pm-5pm.
