Piedmont Park Green Market – Atlanta (all ages) FREE Saturday Enjoy local farmers and artisan goods. While you shop you can enjoy some prepared foods and drinks and local live music.

Storytelling Saturdays @ The Wrens Nest – Atlanta (all ages) Saturday FREE with Admission The Wrens Nest is an historical site dedicated to preserving Joel Chandler Harris’ stories and the heritage of African American folklore. Storytelling begins at 1pm. Stories and storytellers vary.

Max Makes a Million @ The Alliance Theater – Atlanta (all ages) Saturday & Sunday ~$15/person Poetry, dance, jazz, visual art, and most of all, dreams coalesce in a glorious theatrical adaptation of Maira Kalman’s one-of-a-kind book Max Makes a Million.

Monster Fish @ Fernbank – Atlanta (all ages) Saturday & Sunday ~$27/person Hands on exhibit featuring interactive elements to learn about how monster fish grow, how scientists study them, and how anglers and others can help these fish survive.

Drag Queen Story Hour with Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms – Atlanta (all ages) FREE Saturday Special drag queen story hour at Atlanta City Hall. This all-ages event invites children and families to celebrate diversity. Guests will enjoy complimentary face painting, fun activities, and playtime with popular Atlanta mascots with a signature story hour with Miss Terra Cotta Sugarbaker.

Northeast Atlanta

Pet Adoption Day @ The Governors Mansion – Buckhead (all ages) FREE Saturday The Governors Mansion is partnering with humane societies, rescues, and animal shelters from across the state to help find homes for dogs and cats in need.

Butterfly Encounter @ The Chattahoochee Nature Center – Roswell (all ages) Friday, Saturday & Sunday See Site for FEE Get up close and personal with hundreds of native butterflies surrounded by colorful plants. Photo opportunities abound, be sure to bring your camera.

Roswell Summer Puppet Series – Roswell (all ages) $5/person Saturday Rucker is a local Roswell dog and his boy, Sam. Join in their adventure as they discover friendship, laughter, and fun in turn-of-the-century Roswell.

Shoot the Hooch – Roswell (ages 5+) Saturday Shoot the Hooch offers raft, canoe, kayak, tune and stand up paddle boards for rent. Operating hours are dependent on weather, river flow, and air temp.

Brooke Street Park Summer Concert Series – Alpharetta (all ages) FREE Saturday The Summer Concert Series brings music and fun to life. Bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy free, live, family-friendly performances by different Alpharetta based entertainment groups.

Alpharetta Farmers Market – Alpharetta (all ages) FREE Saturday At the Downtown Alpharetta Farmers Market you will find farmers with fruits, veggies, natural meats, gardeners with fresh flowers and herbs, and makers of all sorts of good from yummy desserts and breads to local raw honey and homemade soaps.

Independence Day Walking Community Parade & Celebration – Milton (all ages) FREE Saturday Community parade and celebration. Dress up your wagons, carts, bikes, kids, pets, etc. to walk or ride in the parade. Stay to enjoy music from Bach to Rock Alpharetta, mini horses, games, popcorn, etc.

Cumberland Mall Summer Carnival @ Cumberland Mall – Cobb (all ages) Saturday & Sunday Join us at the 2019 Cumberland Mall Summer Carnival for affordable, family fun. We will have rides, foods, and games for all ages.

Toy Story 4 Day @ Learning Express – Woodstock (all ages) FREE Saturday Jesse and Buzz Light Year will be there from 11 – 12. Come dressed as your fav Toy Story Character. You will be able to make your own “Forky”.

Anniversary of the Battle of Kennesaw – Kennesaw (all ages) FREE Saturday & Sunday Join park staff and volunteers for special programming all throughout the weekend to commemorate the 155th anniversary of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain.

Downtown Canton Farmers Market – Canton (all ages) FREE Saturday Local farms, business, and artisans represented.

Movies in the Park – Canton (all ages) FREE Saturday Enjoy a historic view while watching an outdoor movie hosted in downtown Canton at Brown Park.

Outside of Atlanta

Celebrate America @ The Rock Ranch – The Rock (all ages) Saturday & Sunday ~$17/person Celebrate American is the annual patriotic event, featuring cane pole fishing, ball toss sports, pony rides, petting zoo, giant jumping pillow, pedal boats, cow train, and fireworks.

Sunflower Festival @ Copper Creek Farm – Calhoun (all ages) ~ $15/person Friday and Saturday Experience the farm atmosphere, take as troll in the sunflower farm, visit the Old General Store and eat fun farm food.
