I was a stay at home mom with an 18 month old boy and in my first trimester with my second baby when my husband and I decided to list our Chicago townhouse for sale and purchase a single family home. Let the packing begin!
I was a stay at home mom with a 21 month old boy and in my second trimester with my second baby when we purchased and moved in to our Chicago single family home. Let the unpacking begin!
I was a stay at home mom with a 2 year old boy and in my third trimester with my second baby when my husband came home from work and told me (8 weeks after moving) we were being relocated to Atlanta…..Do I pack? Do I unpack? Cry? File for divorce (only kidding….kind of)?
I was a stay at home mom with a 2 ½ year old boy and a 5 month old girl making a move from Chicago to Atlanta in 2 weeks when I received a phone call that my 57 year old father was being airlifted to a hospital after suffering from a massive bilateral cerebellar stroke and may not live. Let the next 4 weeks of my life start (living in my parents’ rural, Indiana house alone with my two small children while my husband lived between Chicago and Atlanta and driving to my parents daily with either one or two children in tow who were living in a hospital 90 minutes away).
I will never forget showing up to my first Body Back assessment at Fit4Mom Roswell Alpharetta Perimeter (3 months after moving here) and answering the instructor’s question of, “Why are you here?”, with a hidden teary eyed answer, “I need to find me again. And I need friends. Does anyone here want to be my friend?”. I was in such a dark place. I needed a tribe. I was in need of a change. For me. For my husband. For my kids. I needed to find me again. Not ‘Jeannie the Mom’. Not ‘Jeannie the Wife’. Not any of a number of other hats that are worn daily. Just Jeannie. Was I hoping for some inches lost along the way and some new meal ideas? Of course. But I needed more than that.
One year later and I can tell you with full confidence that I not only found me, but I found a tribe full of fearless women who inspire me daily, a body that looks better than it did before having my first child, and the energy to be intentional and fully present with my two kids and my husband. And all of that was found after my first, eight week session.
I would love for you to join me on this 8 week journey. This will be my fourth Body Back session (yup, addicted) and over the next 8 weeks I will touch on things from previous sessions, this current session, and everything in between. I’m going to share the good, the bad, and the ugly (I mean, as a mom, we get all 3 of these things within a matter of minutes, right?).
I’m a normal, everyday mom who has a strong athleisure wear game and one heck of a top knot and I want you to know that wherever you are in motherhood, Body Back is right where you need to be.
“Every moment of every day we are writing the story of our only life. Is yours a story you’re proud of? If there’s change you’ve been craving or wanting or needing, if not now, when? You and everyone around you deserve the happiest, fullest, most confident version of you. Decide to show up that way for you and them.”
