8 Great Family Halloween Costumes

Growing up I was “too cool for school” when it came to Halloween costumes. If I had to dress up, I’d always try to think of something where I could wear normal clothes and maybe throw on a mask or carry a prop to emulate the character I was “not trying” to be.

Now that I have children, I am the complete opposite. I love dressing up and I love doing family costumes! Starting last year, we have really gotten into it. But coming up with “family costume ideas” can be difficult. So I reached out to our village for ideas.

1. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad

Perfect family idea built around an adorable Princess Peach.

2. Mr. Incredible, Elastagirl, Dash, Violet

Be the heroes in your neighborhood with these “Incredibles” costumes – Mr. Incredible, Elastagirl, Dash, Violet (and if need be “Jack-Jack”). I have also seen Frozone or Edna added to the mix if need be.

3. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Characters

Pictured here is Goofy, Mickey, & Minnie. If you need more characters, there’s Donald and Daisy also. Or get your pup involved and bring Pluto along

4. The Cat & the Hat with Thing 1 & Thing 2.

Got twins? How about The Cat & the Hat with Thing 1 & Thing 2. An adorable picture, for sure that is true.

5. Dorothy with her Tin Man and Scarecrow.

The Wizard of Oz is such a classic and such a great family costume idea. Scarecrow, Tin Man, Dorothy…then there is the Lion, the Wizard himself, Glenda, the Wicked Witch of the West, Munchkins, etc.

6. RoadRunner, Wiley E. Coyote and an ACME rocket

For those runners, who better to be than the RoadRunner from ACME Studios…pair that with the Wiley E. Coyote and baby can be an ACME rocket and this family idea wins most creative idea so far.

7. Fawns with a Lumberjack

Little girls love to be pretty & dainty and we love dressing them up as such. Why not have mama and baby girl dress up as dainty fawns while daddy is a lumberjack? These are so beautiful…like a ballerina’s costume.

8. Mr. Albert Einstein and his scientists

Let your baby shine as Mr. Einstein and his scientists. Slap on some fluffy white eyebrows, a mustache, and dress all in white with E=mc2. Mom and dad can dress as scientists to accompany their budding genius.

Those are just a few of the amazing ideas our village had for last years Halloween costume ideas. Their suggestions for this year were even more creative and amazing.

Do you dress up for Halloween or just let your little ones have all the fun? Will you be doing a family costume? If so, what will it be. Leave a comment and let us know!!!
